Today, is a very special day...
Today is my dearest friend *Natsu-Blossom's birthday.
Not only is it that, it is also the day she first joined dA, and when we first met. To me its an important day, and I want to make it very special for her.
I went back 197 pages of comments to find the one where we first met.
Here's our first conversation:
Me: "happy b-day and welcome!"
Her: "Thank you so much!!! And I really like your Sonic Style!"
Me: "thank you soo much! it's only your first day and you're already a better artist than me! and it was your sister's inspiration that led me to finding my style!its really cool that you're 13 too!(if you didn't know im 13)"
Her: "I wouldn't say that I'm better than you at all! Because we both draw 2 completely different styles. You would totally pown me at any Sonic/Anthro stuff!"
Me: "you are so nice! have you ever tried to draw Sonic/Anthro? I know i've tried anime but i haven't had much time to practice. everyone's got their specialty!"
Her: "Well when I started out drawing with my first sketch book (I was like 9 years old) I started doing Sonic art, I got it all from Kaya so I just drew it because she did. After like 2-3 months I drew my first anime character and I thought it was fun. It wasn't that I figured out that I sucked at Sonic Art (Which I totally did) or that I wanted to draw something different than my sister, I just found it more appealing and fun. And I totally just dropped sonic stuff and moved onto anime, though don't think I started drawing a ton or anything, it took me almost 2 years to finish my first sketch book and it was a small book! I continued drawing anime and never thought of drawing Sonic Art, I have drawn some anthro if you count a added tail and big ears as anthro. But I have been getting a sudden interest in Sonic art but I want to develop my anime skill a bit more still though.
Sorry that was a really long comment"
Me: "lol no problem! i have a similar story! My very close friend/half-cousin taught me in school last year at recess to draw anime. i used to be good at it but in september i became determined to improve on my sonic style! so i ended up dropping anime for a while but from time to time i still draw in that style so yeah..
lol now i have a really long comment too"
And it keeps going for quite some time.
For the picture, I wanted it to represent our friendship, which hopefully I accomplished. Ember and Natsu are best friends, like Natsu and I. Even thought the drawing was made last month, it took me until today to finish it! To be honest, this is the most effort I've EVER had to put into a picture in my life! But it was well worth it. I absolutely LOVE how the girls turned out, and the tree. Also the cake looks yummy, doesn't it?
Well now that this terribly long comment is done, I really hope you like it Natsu-chan and have a fabulous birthday! BFF's forever!
